Do I have a reason to be upset?

My boyfriend goes to the Air Force academy and we've been dating for 4 months. He used to spend almost every weekend with me for the entire weekend adn we rarely spent a weekend apart and even when he was at school (i go to another university 2 horus away) he would still call every day and leave me cute text messages. recently he's been so busy with school to where i'm lucky if i get a call once a week and it's very short and he just texts me at night. then this weekend he came over on friday at 9pm, we watched movies and stayed up til midnight then he left at 9 the next morning to go parachute jumping. so he really only stayed for 3 hours while he was concious. he spent the rest of the weekend with his little sister which is great b/c he's trying to fix their relationship. other than that the past few weeks have been awful, i miss talking to him so much but i know he's so busy and he's not doing it on purpose. i don't know if i should just say nothing about it or to ask him if he could make time for us during the day. also, we're going to Disney World together in two weeks for 4 days and as great as that is, i love the inbetween even if it's just a phone call. he graduates the academy in may and will be stationed in Italy for 3 years and i think knowing he'll he gone is affecting me already. what am i supposed to do? am i being irrational?

Answer on Do I have a reason to be upset?

Maybe he is afraid just as much as you are.

I think he is just trying to push away from you because he knows he has to leave soon and doesn't want the relationship to get more serious because it will hurt even more.

I do think you should talk to him though. Dont come off as needy, but just tell him that you really do care about him and you want to make the best of his last months and to make it a time worth remembering.

Don't interfere with the relationship of his sister...he is leaving soon so of course he is going to spend time with her. Maybe suggest that one time you all should hang out together because you want to get to know his family more., if he doesn't like the idea, then just leave it alone.

Your not being irrational, your only human and it just shows that you really do care for him.

Just talk to him.

Im goin to Italy what should i pack before i go ?

Ty for your help

Answer on Im goin to Italy what should i pack before i go ?

A small folding umbrella to carry with you while you're out exploring. Do bring comfortable shoes for walking and exploring the tourist sites. A camera with a lot of memory/film and a charger. For any electronics you have, you'll need a plug adapter. for things like cell phone or camera chargers, laptops, etc. That's all you need - just a simple device that will plug into a wall socket here that you can plug your device into. For some things like hair driers, you may need a voltage converter. You can tell by checking the power supply label. If it says something like Input: 100 - 240 Vac, 50/60 hz, then you're all set with just the plug adapter.

You shouldn't need much else except clothes appropriate to the time of year you'll be here and any personal items you want to bring.

If you go to university in Italy and become an M. D. are you only qualified in Italy?

I'm a Canadian girl who's going into grade 12. I love Italy and I speak Italian, and I would love to live there someday. I don't know exactly how the Italian university system works, but assuming it is along the same lines at North American universities, if I get my Bachelor of Science in Italy, and attend medical school, go through residency, etc., and became a doctor in Italy, does that mean I'd be able to be a doctor ONLY in Italy? If for some reason I wanted to move back to Canada, would my qualifications no longer be sufficient in Canada? And the same goes for if I did all my schooling in Canada. Would I be able to be a doctor in Italy (assuming I spoke Italian well enough)? Thanks.

Answer on If you go to university in Italy and become an M.D. are you only qualified in Italy?

You're in Canada, so I don't know the specifics.

In the US, you'd have to get your non-US degrees evaluated and declared equivalent to regionally-accredited ones of similar designation in the US; and you'd have to take some exams -- maybe some additional courses -- and do some internship and residency...

...but, after passing at least one medical licensing exam after all that, you could become a physician in the US if you were once one in Italy.

It's just a MAJOR (and costly) pain in the rear.

I presume Canada is the same, but some Canadians here who know will need to chime-in.

Hope that helps.

Amsterdam to Italy the cheap and easy way?

I'm starting from Amsterdam and heading to Italy. I want to visit Rome, Pisa and Venice, but I don't know which city to start in. What would be the easiest and cheapest way to see all of these cities and how much time would be recommended?

Answer on Amsterdam to Italy the cheap and easy way?

The quickest and easiest way is to fly. There are a couple of good sites for budget flights: http://www.skyscanner.it/ and http://www.skyscanner.it/ . I live in northern Italy and find Transavia to often be the best option: http://www.transavia.com/hv/en-EU/home . they fly into all three cities you're interested in. It's going to be better to fly into either Rome or Venice and take the train to get to the other two cities. Personally, I would spend a couple of days in Venice, maybe three days in Florence and use one for a day trip to Pisa & Lucca and four days or so in Rome. How much time do you have?

Any tips for traveling from France, to Spain, to Italy and back, on train of course.?

Answer on Any tips for traveling from France, to Spain, to Italy and back, on train of course.?

It might be worthwhile for you to look into getting a rail pass. If you're an American citizen, you can choose three bordering countries you want to travel in with the Eurail Select Pass (www.eurail.com). You'll find more information and other options on the website. If you live somewhere else, there are other passes such as the Interrail pass that are similar. I've used both before and they're good to have if you're doing a lot of train travel. The other option is buying individual tickets, which is better if you only have a couple journeys.

I always go through the Eurail site to plan my journeys. It's the best server I've found that covers the train timetables of Europe; just go to links/useful links on the Eurail site and click on "Plan your trip with the international train planner". That will take you to a page that lets you find out train times and how long it takes to get from point A to point B.

If you don't get a rail pass, you can buy tickets online once you know what train will get you where you want to go when you want to go there. Or you can arrive early and buy them in the train station.

If you're using a rail pass, you can sometimes just hop on the train, but you often need reservations (especially on high speed trains from one big city to the next). So just arrive early and check with the ticket counter; tell them you have a pass and ask if you need a reservation. If you do, it may cost a few euros but won't usually be more than that. At that point, they'll print you out a ticket that has your seat number and everything. (There is nowhere online to buy reservations ahead of time, it must be done at the station, or on the train itself, but the online timetables will indicate whether or not you need a reservation.)

Planning and getting the tickets was the most stressful part for me. Once you've got the journey planned, you're set. In the countries you're visiting, it will be pretty easy to do the actual traveling. When you’re at station with your ticket/pass/reservation in hand, check the departures screens to see what platform your train will leave from. Even if it isn’t in English (which it probably will be) you can figure it out pretty easily. If not, don’t hesitate to check at the info counter, the ticket window, or with someone friendly looking. Then you’re ready to hop on the train and find your seat, and make sure to board the right car as well to avoid walking the length of the train to find your seat! If you don’t have an assigned seat, just make sure you’re in the correct class (the outside of the train will either have a 1 or a 2 on the side) and find a spot.

If it is a long journey, bring food. There might be some on the train, but it will be outrageously priced. Bring something to keep you occupied as well…a book, magazine, music player of some sort, playing cards, etc. Store your luggage overhead or on a rack, but keep your valuables on you. Money belt isn’t necessary…just make sure you’ve got your eye on your stuff at ALL times. If you nap, sleep on it.

Some trains will announce the stations you’re arriving at when you get there, but some don’t. And the announcements may or may not be in English. So make sure you know the arrival time and are ready to hop off when it gets close. You’ll see signs that tell you what station you’re in when you pull up to the platform. If in doubt, ask a neighbour.

I think that’s about it. Train travel is fun. I prefer it to flying. It’s kind of a way to experience a bit of the culture, sometimes a way to meet people, and in general an experience in itself that’s much more interesting and less stressful than flying. I guess my best advice is be open-minded, be considerate, be alert, and have fun!

Where can I buy made in England womens shoes/boots?

I live in England and have bought Clarks, Hush Puppies and Dr Martens shoes and boots in the past that have been of questionable quality given the brand name. I know they are all made in China etc now so that is not surprising. Are there any brands that sell boots of a casual style (not old lady) that I can buy from either in person or online that still make them in England (or UK)? I will also consider made in Italy.

Answer on Where can I buy made in England womens shoes/boots?

Can I go to uni in France, and pay the same as a French person?

There was something in the news today about a rule which means students from countries which are EU member states pay the same as students do locally if they want to go to university in another EU country. For example, a student from Italy going to university in London would have to pay the same tuition fees as someone who had lived in London their entire life.

I live in the UK, and would like to know if this would apply to me were I to apply to a university in France - would I only have to pay the rate set by the French government? And also, would I need a baccalaureate (?) or are A Levels an equivalent qualification.

I realise I haven't worded this particularly clearly, but if anyone can help it would be lovely.

Answer on Can I go to uni in France, and pay the same as a French person?

As an EU citizen you pay the same rate as the French pay or any other EU country. The only ones who have to pay international fees are non EU students. A level are not are not equivalent to Baccalaureate . To study the baccalaureate you have to study six subject to get the baccalaureate. The Baccalaureate are higher than As levels. Example the International Baccalaureate is the equivalent of five A-grade A-levels. Remember you only need three A levels to get into a British university. Yes French universities accept A-levels

I need a Hotel in Venice Italy?

How long is good for Venice?

Answer on I need a Hotel in Venice Italy?

How long to stay really depends on your interests, whether you want to take any day trips using Venice as a base, and what's going on in the city. You might want to stay a little longer when special events like Carnevale, Il Redentore, the Historical Regatta, the Venice film Festival or the Biennale are running. A lot of people spend one or two days seeing Venice since it's one of the more expensive places here.

As for hotels, this is the site I use: http://www.venere.com/italy/venice/ . Most often I stay in the San Marco area at places like: http://www.venere.com/hotels/venice/hote… ,

http://www.venere.com/summit-hotels/veni… , http://www.venere.com/hotels/venice/hote… . I live fairly close to Venice and stay over night for some of the festivals and prefer to be close to Piazza San Marco, but Venice is pretty compact and easily walkable. The less expensive places tend to be on the outer islands like the Lido or near the train station.

What would be better for a fundraiser? Fried chicken or Italian food?

planning a fundraiser for trip to Italy and Greece. wondering what would help me and my friend earn more money.

Answer on What would be better for a fundraiser? Fried chicken or Italian food?

I would vote for italian based on the following:

!) Italian food is easier to serve in different sized portions.

2) while fried chicken is tasty, more people lean towards healthier choice like pasta

3) stale chicken is greasy, while pasta can be warmed up and is still tasty

Are we sending any help to Italy?

are we sending help to Italy?

Answer on Are we sending any help to Italy?

In regards to the recent storm, no relief from us is available.

I am going to be spending some time in Italy this summer, What is the best way to call back to the US?

I am going to be studying abroad this summer, is there an affordable way to have a cellphone that could make calls in Italy and also make calls back home reasonably? I have AT&T currently, if it matters.

Answer on I am going to be spending some time in Italy this summer, What is the best way to call back to the US?

But a phone card in Italy, they were pretty inexpensive when we were there and you got a lot of minutes for the money. You might buy minutes from AT&T, but I think we had a problem when we did that, so we just used the phone cards. You can buy just a few minutes or lots of minutes.

PLEASE ANSWER, I REALLY NEED SOME OPINIONS? HES NOT REPLYING?

ok so im starting to like a guy and i finally got the courage to inbox him on facebook. i just posted this question, but one answer really freaked me out, saying i asked too many questions!! here is our conversation so far (names have been changed.)

Me: hey you're in my english class, right? (period 2, Ms. M?)

Him: Why yes I am. Do you need to know something?

Me: Yeah, actually :) I know Ms. M has had the homework on the board the whole week, but I kept not writing it down, because I figured I would remember the chapters to read, turns out I don't...so if you could tell me I would indeed be very grateful :)

Him: Well I actually don't write them down either. I think we have to read the next four chapters for a quiz on Wednesday. I'm not 100% sure it's four, but I would read 4. If you find out on Monday you had to read more, then it's not that much more and you'll be able to finish quickly. :)

*another message (from HIM)*

Oh I keep on forgetting to tell you. This might be very random, but I know your uncle Gary. He lives near us and owned a video store three blocks away from where we live.

*another message (from HIM)*

Wait its 27-35. If you can't finish 9 chapters by wednesday like me, sparknotes is a good place to go for the rest

Me: Thank you very very very much :) and I think sparknotes is certainly not out of the question. Oh and it's so funny that you know Gary! it's really sad that the movie place had to go, but the rent shot up so much he couldn't afford to keep it anymore. so it goes. how long have you been at *name of high school*?

Him: Im a sophomore and I was here last year. You?

Me: I just moved to New York from Italy...it's been pretty crazy

Him: Oh, wow, what was it like there?

Me: Really different. I'm actually italian-american, so I've been visiting the states every Christmas and every summer, but I figured I wanted to move here for a bit (my parents are still in Italy). What's your major (it's an arts school, so it's a logical question)?

did i say something to freak him out or am i overreacting, as usual? i know he's been on facebook from my news feed (AM NOT STALKING) keep in mind i've never spoken to him face to face. thank you.

6 minutes ago - 4 days left to answer.

Answer on PLEASE ANSWER, I REALLY NEED SOME OPINIONS? HES NOT REPLYING?

My brain hurts. D=

You're fine. You might try talking in real life. Could be fun.

Give him a big kiss. =P
