Why most black people say that they're "African American"... thats sooo annoying!!

Im mixed black and white.. So Im not being racist, but I was just wondering.. my mother who is black was brought up to say she was just "American"... because she wasnt born in Africa.. You dont see white people saying stuff like "Italy American" just because theyre ancestors were from Italy!!

Does anyone get what Im saying.. this has been niggling my mind since this morning...

Sometimes people do it to justify the color of their skin, sometimes it make them feel good by saying it, dont worry, just be what you are and be proud of it, that is all that count, you arte a human, forget the color.

The last time was when my team, A.C Milan ended up defeated against Liverpool in the 2005 Champions League Final, at the Ataturk Stadium in Turkey.

We were leading the match 3-0 at the half-time, but then they managed to overturn the result (also with the aid of the referee, which disallowed a Shevchenko's valid goal...)

But I think u all know what happened afterwards...



The thing is that we were all celebrating in the streets and squares at the half-time: that's why I still can't stand thinking of that match!

Im recently talking to this guy and we have been in the process of getting to know one another.He recently went on vacation to italy for a month and said he hoped i have a great summer and he mananged to keep in contact with me while he was there.He has asked me lots of questions such as whats my major? my hobbies? how many classes im taking this summer? etc. We met a few times at church and he wanted to hang out during this summer but i been busy with summer school and work that it was not possible. He recently moved to texas for med school. I asked how his new home is? he said its a little empty it could use a women's touch. So i said well dont worry you will make friends soon. So he said that wasnt the anwser he was hoping for.I also suggested making friends in church since he hardly knows anyone there. He replied by saying im sure things will work out but if they dont can we still chat..what did he mean? Oh and the other day he texted me saying hey how are you? so i was like good you? So he said he was a little bored at a club he was watching tv with a friend/cousin. So i said sounds like your making friends? I asked him no dancing? Hes like well i usually dance with a female friend since your not here...so i said well dont let me stop you from enjoying yourself. Does he sound like a good guy i should get to know better?

Career/Life Advice Needed!?

Okay I'm 25 yrs old. In high school I was always the honor roll student, good job, good savings, could afford what I wanted-got my own place when I was 18. I went to college for a year and half-I got a full ride for music (I was even offered a job in Italy right out of high school, but couldn't do it I only got a month maybe 2 a year, huge family person PLUS I would of been 17 overseas by myself,etc). I left college because I realized the demand for someone with a background in music was slim. I always loved to do hair so I went to Coz school. I got a great job in a high end salon and was doing okay....I loved doing hair because I love making people feel good and I can still be creative. Well then the economy really took a turn for the worse. I had to move back home after living on my own since I was 18. I can't find good money or a job. It really has made me quesiton what I should be doing. I love hair-I wanted to be a educator or own my own salon one day! I also love animals! Working very very part time at a local dog boutique and getting dog has made me really think about that aspect too. I have a 7mo pup who is fully trained-even cool tricks, I trained him myself. I have helped train a few family and friends dogs. Tonight I going to a career fair to see about become a dental asst, medical asst, or a medical billing and coder. I don't know where I should go or what I should be doing! I hate this because I have NEVER felt this way-I was always the one who knew where they were going in life and could get what I wanted (not talking in the i'm a spoiled brat way-but like I was working 2 jobs while in high school kind of way) I don't know if its the economy or what but I just feel completely and utterly lost! What would you do? I know what I like and what I'm good at-I'm good at coming up with advertising/marketing things, very creative, i love being around people and animals, i good with business stuff, i love music. But that is really getting me a whole lot of now where! In a dream life I would either have my own salon or my own pet business. I know I'm rambling but I don't know what to do!

It sounds wonderful that you can identify things that you love to do. My advice is to follow your dreams and aspirations, but do them for yourself. Open your own business-perhaps an online business where you can get involved in the music business or hair business or pet business or better yet, all of the above. I really need help with my computer(Windows Updates)?

Since i downloaded sum updates, it says Install updates& then shuts down your computer.

Well when i choose that option, it just says, 1 of 4 and it doesnt work, so the only thing i can do its press the power button, & everytime i do that my computer gets, slower & really weird.

I don't know if i need internet so i can install the updates, but my internet is Cricket Wireless, and well is not like At&t its way different.

You can run antivirus and antispyware programs, but the sad fact is if you have found one virus on your computer, you probably have several. Cleaning the computer now requires you to follow these steps, because modern viruses and spyware entrench themselves in files that your computer needs in order to run:



1. Virus-check your data files (not application files-- you have installer CDs for those).

2. Back up the data files, getting them off your hard drive.

3. Get your original operating system CDs that came with your computer.

4. Boot your computer from the operating system CD.

5. Select the option that erases your hard drive and then reinstall your system software.

6. Turn on your software firewall that came with your operating system.

7. Reconnect to the internet, and download *all* Windows updates, no matter how long it takes.

8. Reinstall your application software, and update the applications as much as you can.

9. Reinstall your data files.

10. Create a limited user account on your system that does *not* have administrator access, and web surf only from this account.



Yes, this is a pain in the butt. No, there is no other way. No, antivirus and antispyware programs cannot fix this problem on its own.



So, what do you do in the future?



1. Never click on links you find in an e-mail.

2. Never open an e-mail attachment, ever.

3. Only download files from a reputable website that you know is on the up-and-up.

4. Never use bit-torrent and other file-sharing programs.

5. Never use an unsolicited drive-checking site.

6. Turn off all java and java scripting by default, and only enable java and java scripting for sites that you know you can trust.

7. Never read an unsolicited e-mail, and delete spam immediately. It is possible to be hacked by reading an e-mail alone.



Please adhere to the 'dont's' I provided above, because you will have to repeat the cleaning steps that I listed first *every time you get infected.* Anti-spyware and anti-virus programs are good to have, but they are a second line of defense. The best way to protect your system is you, and changing your behavior.

Don't overspend.

Be friendly and sincere to your friends.

It depends on exactly where you are in northern Italy. Where I live about an hour south of Verona is generally pretty nice. It's been colder and wetter than normal so far this year. We get very little snow in the winter, but further north in the Dolomites and Alps, there's a lot of snow. On clear days in the winter, we can see snow covered mountains both to the north and to the south. Starting about the 2nd week in October and running through February or early March, we can get periods of fog. Some days, the fog persists throughout the day. It makes places like Venice pretty interesting. In the summer, particularly July and August, it can be very hot and humid a lot of the time. I went to Sicily recently, and a lot of the people there are poor. They live in crappy apartments and they drive old beater cars because they don't have much money. These apartments are full of poverty; the hot water doesn't always work right and they look old and poor from the outside.



What's up with this? Sicily looks a lot poorer than other parts of Italy.



Why don't the people there go to college and get sweet jobs that pay good money so that they don't have to be so poor no more?

You will need a copy of your brothers death certificate, your ID, and any thing else that can establish you as a direct relative. Then go to your local Veteran affairs office and tell them what you want. They should be either able to get them to you or at least tell you how to get them. Since you will be dealing with the US military be patient, there will be red tape and beuracracy to deal with. You may also want to go to the nearest military installation of his service branch and ask the gaurd at the gate where you should go. If you have his old military ID bring it to either of them as well. Also make sure you have his social security card. If driving is to far, look in your phone book and be prepared to be put on hold for a while, but be patient.

So what do you like doing? Sicily has Saracan forts, Greek temples, Norman Cathedrals and Spanish Villas. Everyone has been there. There are also some great seaside resorts and areas of unspoilt countryside. And the motorway joining Catania and Palermo makes any other white knuckle ride seem tame.
